OOS 2021 Spring Meeting
April 16-18, Sequoyah State Park
The 2021 spring meeting of the Oklahoma Ornithological Society (OOS) will be held April 16-18 at Sequoyah State Park on Fort Gibson Lake. Sequoyah has 12+ miles of trails from paved to earthen, in pine-oak forests and along shoreline.
Masks will be required inside all public spaces as well as when groups are assembled.
OOS will be renting the Group Camp area. We will have 10 bunkhouses available (1 ADA, 1 accessible) for rent. These areas have heat/air, but linens are not provided. If you are interested in renting a bunkhouse contact Jeff Tibbits (firstname.lastname@example.org) to reserve one for $60 for the weekend. The bathroom facility has showers, but is not attached to the bunkhouses. Tent camping will be allowed in designated areas at group camp.
Sequoyah State Park offers all levels of lodging options. We have dynamic pricing, so the prices vary based on occupancy and options.
For hotel style lodge rooms, cabanas, cottages, and lakeside cabins you can make your reservations online www.travelok.com/SequoyahStatePark or call the lodge for more information at 918.772.2545. Tent and RV sites can be booked through the park at www.travelok.com/SequoyahStatePark. For questions call the front office at 918-772-2046. All reservations are available (and easiest) online.
In June of 2020 Oklahoma State Parks enacted a parking fee. Parking permits can be purchased for 1 day, 3 days, or as an annual pass. If you are purchasing a stay (campside/lodging) 1 pass is included. Honorably discharged veterans and those 62-years and older can stop by the front office to apply for a parking pass at a 100% discount.
Please register for the OOS spring meeting through the normal OOS channels online at okbirds.org, or by mail using the registration form on the last page.
