OOS Spring Meeting - May 13-15, 2011

Mark your calendars now! The spring meeting of the Oklahoma Ornithological Society will be May 13th - 15th at Black Mesa State Park. The Black Mesa area is home to many bird species that are seldom encountered elsewhere in Oklahoma including Black-billed Magpie, Cassin's Kingbird, Western Screech-Owl, and others. The guest speaker will be Lynn Butler who will be talking about her Big Year which she chronicled in her book "Extreme Birder: One Woman's Big Year". (The book should be out in April.)

Further details about the meeting will be posted soon, once they are finalized. Contact Chris Butler with any questions.

OOS Fall Meeting - TBA

View the Audubon Council Calendar

In the interests of not duplicating work, and since we share common goals, I am providing a link to the Calendar on the Oklahoma Audubon Council web site, which contains field trips, meetings and other events for all bird clubs, Audubon chapters, and other groups that I am aware of.

If you have an event that you should be included on the calendar, send it to the johnkennington@cox.net
